The God of all grace

June 12, 2014 by 5 Comments

“And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace,

who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ,

will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

~ 1 Peter 5:10-11

These verses in 1 Peter were a promised hope to my husband when he first became a Christian over 10 years ago. I was looking just now through one of his old journals and he referenced these verses in how he prayed for the Lord would be faithful through the early stages of his santification . Oh how he was fighting hard against sin with the strength of the Lord provided! And now it encourages my heart to see the Lord answered these prayers to my sweet husband, as he is in Glory with His Savior right now!

Fully restored.  Fully confirmed.  Fully strengthen.  Fully established.  By The God of all grace!

Indeed, this encourages my hope in Jesus.   I pray these verses over my family and myself as we wait upon the Lord to provide through these darker days as we grieve & miss our dear Mark.   God truly is the God of all grace!  His grace is that amazing!  May the Lord answer these prayers soon for me/us!

To God be the glory!

You don’t know me but I started reading your blog after your sister told readers of Mark’s illness. My father died of brain cancer nearly 2 years ago, and I know what courage Mark must have had to keep on fighting to spend more precious time with you and your family. I just wanted to know that I am thinking of you in this difficult time.

    Hi Anna,
I don’t know you, but I graduated from Southern, probably around the time you came! I have been following your blog and have been so encouraged through your life and beautiful words. I am so sorry for the losses and the suffering you have been going through. I am thankful for the hope you have. I have been praying for you and will continue to do so.

My prayers and thoughts continue to be with you, sweet Anna.

  4. Dear Anna,
I also learned of your blog through your sister’s (It’s Overflowing) blog. And as the previous comment, I also lost my father to cancer. Your faith will guide you through this difficult time. I am so sorry for your loss and will keep you and your precious children in my prayers.

Hi Anna, my brother and Mark were good friends growing up through high school and beyond. Mark was amazing person even as a kid. He just always had such joy and passion for life, and it seems like he met an amazing wife, mother and friend in you. I want you to know that my prayers are with you and your precious children at this time. I also have 3 small kids and know the challenges you face even on a easy day. Keep working hard to just be their Mommy and their love will guide you through.
